Activating Our Communities
Heritage is one of the cornerstones of community - and community is a cornerstone of the heritage sector. How do we activate our communities to maximize our impact and relevance, spark creativity, share skills and resources to improve sustainability, learn from each other, consider and give voice to multiple perspectives, and empower our communities to tell their own narratives?
This Symposium will strive to explore these questions and more. YHMA is currently seeking proposals for 15- to 20-minute presentations related to any of the following key themes:
Case studies, best practice/theory-based talks, and other formats are welcome. Proposals may involve multiple speakers. While proposals must have some connection or relevance to heritage and/or the heritage sector, speakers need not be from the heritage sector and are encouraged to think outside the box.

Have your five minutes of fame! The last part of the day will be devoted to catching up with the Yukon heritage community through a series of "Ignite"-style presentations. All participants are invited to give a 5-minute presentation on their:
Speakers must build their presentations with 20 slides, set to automatically advance every 15 seconds. This is a great opportunity to share successes and lessons learned from a recent project, get feedback or find partners for new project ideas, or just share what you have going on with your colleagues!
