Periodically the YHMA holds conferences on major themes in Yukon history and pre-history. The conferences include guest speakers, the presentation of research papers, films, field trips and discussions. Conference locations vary to include Yukon’s many diverse communities.

Yukon Historical & Museums Association Board and Staff would like to thank everyone for your support while we bid on the Canadian Museums Association National Annual Conference May 27-31, 2013.

We are thrilled to announce that we have successfully won this bid! This could not have been possible without the support of our members, Yukon Government and project partners including Parks Canada and the KVA. The Department of Tourism and Culture has provided a generous one-time funding contribution of $25,000 to assist with the participation of Yukon Heritage workers to attend the 2013 conference workshops and study tours in the communities.

Yukon Museums, Cultural Centres and Art Galleries are doing some amazing work and now is our chance to share this with our national colleagues! Please get involved to help shape this national conference and insure we all benefit from it.

If you would like more information on being on either of these committees or about the CMA Conference in general, please let us know.
